My home has always served as inspiration for observational paintings.

Each time I moved I was excited by my new surroundings. My subjects were most often found in the domestic clutter around me. I viewed them as self portraits. Other times I tried to create narratives and used objects as metaphors. These props became characters in my play. Flowers and food stimulated a sense of urgency and fragility. A student commented that I paint with an urgency to render the still life before it dies.
